Shipping Policy

Effective date: January 1, 2026 · Last updated: January 1, 2026

This Shipping Policy summarizes the general transit terms that apply when Digital Forwarders Alliance arranges transportation of your cargo.

1. Scope

Digital Forwarders Alliance is a freight forwarder and customs broker; we do not sell physical merchandise to consumers. This policy summarizes the general transit terms applicable when DFA arranges transportation of your cargo.

2. Booking & cut-offs

Ocean bookings must be confirmed at least 96 hours before vessel cut-off. Air bookings should be confirmed at least 24 hours before the chosen flight. Cut-off times are advisory and may change without notice based on carrier conditions.

3. Transit times

Typical transit times are: Trans-Pacific ocean 18–32 days, Trans-Atlantic ocean 12–18 days, international air 2–5 business days, and U.S. domestic LTL 2–5 business days. Times are estimates, not guarantees.

4. Documentation

The shipper is responsible for accurate commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, and any partner-government agency forms. DFA may refuse to ship cargo that lacks required documentation.

5. Prohibited goods

DFA does not transport currency, firearms, ammunition, perishable foodstuffs (unless explicitly contracted), live animals, hazardous waste, or any goods prohibited under U.S. export controls or sanctions.

6. Claims

Loss or damage claims must be filed in writing within nine months of delivery for ocean cargo (per COGSA) and within seven days for air cargo (per the Montreal Convention).

7. Insurance

Default carrier liability is limited. We strongly recommend all-risk cargo insurance, which we can place on your behalf for a small premium.
