Who we are
The Digital Forwarders Alliance ("the Alliance", "we", "us") is a 501(c)(6) non-profit trade association incorporated in Illinois with its principal office at 530 Pfingsten Rd, Northbrook, IL 60062, USA. This policy explains how we collect and use personal information when you visit our website, become a member, attend our events or contact us. What we collect
When you contact us through the website we receive your name, email address and the contents of your message. When you become a member we additionally collect your business address, billing information and professional credentials. When you visit the website we log standard web traffic data (IP address, browser type, pages visited, time of visit) for security and analytics purposes.
How we use it
We use member information to operate the membership, deliver programs, send the monthly compliance brief and process payments. We use visitor information to maintain the website, improve content and detect abuse. We do not sell personal information to third parties under any circumstances.
Cookies
We use a small number of cookies, described in detail in our cookie policy. You can decline non-essential cookies via the consent banner.
Sharing
We share information only with vendors operating on our behalf (payment processors, email delivery, hosting) under written agreements that prohibit secondary use. We may disclose information when required by law or in response to a valid legal process.
Your rights
U.S. residents may request a copy of the personal information we hold, ask us to correct inaccuracies, or request deletion. California residents have additional rights under the CCPA, including the right to know the categories of personal information collected and disclosed, the right to delete, and the right to non-discrimination for exercising these rights. Data retention
Member records are kept for the duration of membership plus seven years to satisfy U.S. tax and audit requirements. Inquiry emails are retained for two years. Web analytics are retained in aggregated form for thirty-six months.
Children
Our website and services are intended for business users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Security
Personal information is held on hosted infrastructure with industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest. Access to member data is restricted to staff who require it to perform their work.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced via the monthly brief and by notice on this page. This policy was last updated on April 12, 2026.
