Air freight
Air represents a smaller share of global tonnage but a much larger share of value. It is also where regulation moves fastest.
The practical scope of air freight
- IATA cargo agency. Most member firms are IATA-CASS approved with their own freight forwarder code.
- Cold chain. CEIV Pharma capability for biologics, vaccines and clinical trial material.
- AOG & on-board courier. 24/7 desks for next-flight-out aircraft-on-ground recoveries.
- Charter brokerage. B747F, B777F and AN-124 capacity sourced through the Alliance broker network.
- DG & lithium battery handling. Mandatory annual recertification through the training program.
The Alliance does not directly broker shipments. Instead, we maintain a peer network where licensed practitioners share documentation templates, regulatory updates and lessons learned — the kind of institutional knowledge that used to travel only between desks in the same office.

Common questions about air freight
Is the Alliance affiliated with TSA?
No. The TSA Certified Cargo Screening Program (CCSP) is administered directly by TSA. The Alliance does provide a study group for the CCSF facility-security-coordinator role.
Do members handle e-commerce parcels?
Yes — many run cross-border e-commerce desks tied into Section 321 entry flows.
What is the smallest air shipment members will handle?
Practical floor is roughly 50 kg; on-board courier covers anything below that.
